DART out to Vote!

The "Dart out to Vote!" event at Dart Stations across the metroplex in September was organized by the League of Women Voters.

The league's representative, Elizabeth Wally, came to El Centro College and had those interested to become deputized which allowed the deputized students and faculty to register qualified people to vote in the coming election. Judith Prueitt, a distinguished member of PTK, along with Opaleane Smith, also a proud member, and I joined in that process. Mrs. Wally explained the plan was to set up at the West Transit Center in Downtown Dallas and to simply educate the public on voting in Dallas county.

Our very own president, Shekei'ra Ward, and Chris Newsom also volunteered in this historical and educational process. Needless to say, Mrs. Wally applauded PTK performance and thanked us for our hard work.  Sigma Tau were also joined by OLAS, The Organization for Latin American Students. The OLAS connection will be a long lasting one and I look forward to working with them again. Thus, the Voter registration event was a total success.
